Integrative Acupuncture

Acupuncture is one component of treatment in traditional oriental medicine and dates back several thousands of years. In Japan it is an alternative form of therapy outside the national healthcare system, however in China it is an integral part of the countries medical system.

Meridian therapy is where disease is located in terms of changes found on the meridians and acupuncture points. Meridian therapy’s objectives are to balance the meridians after examining the patient by questioning, looking, listening and palpating to best determine where on the body presents with an imbalance. Abnormal meridians are classified as deficient or excessive and the practitioner will either tonify deficient meridians or disperse excessive meridians in their treatment.

The fundamental approach and technique in Meridian therapy is the use of subtle needling which is hardly felt by the patient.  It makes the treatment less intimidating for both adults and children.
